Since writing your article the market for online language learning has exploded. There are 100’s of Skype language schools now offering very similar services.
What I have especially noted is the huge increase in Chinese language schools turning to Skype. Many Chinese families have a great need for teaching their children English, but find it difficult to find a native English teacher. With the advent of online learning it is now possible to easily find native speakers who are available late at night or early mornings. I think due to this demand more and more people are thinking of teaching via Skype as the possibilities increase.
